When Everton joined NoCode Institute, he was unemployed, juggling the emotional weight of caregiving for his bedridden grandfather, and carrying the pressure of rebuilding a career from scratch.
He doubted he'd even be accepted into the program.
At first, everything felt overwhelming. Creating landing pages, setting up profiles, learning unfamiliar tools—it was all new. And in those early weeks, when his grandfather fell seriously ill with dengue, he almost dropped out. But with encouragement from the team—and a deep desire to see this through—he stayed.
“I didn’t think I’d get to the end,” he said. “But I did. And I’m so grateful.”
Once Everton got going, something clicked. He began seeing technology not as something out of reach—but as something he could do.
He learned to use Airtable, Softr, Zapier, and Wix. He discovered how no-code could turn ideas into functioning apps and websites. And slowly, his confidence grew.
His proudest moment? Building Amigurumimania—an online store to help his mother and sister sell their handmade crochet dolls.
It wasn’t just a course project. It was personal.
“We could never have paid someone to build that. I became the person who could.”
He set up the site with Softr, connected Gumroad for payments, automated the backend with Zapier and Airtable—and created something that brought his family joy and pride.
More than anything, Everton experienced a powerful mindset shift:
From “I need to know how to code” to “I can create real things now.”
From “perfect” to “done.”
And that shift stuck.

“Done is better than perfect”
Everton’s ready for chapter two. Law is now in the rearview mirror—though he knows he’ll always carry that analytical mindset with him.
Today, he’s focused on building a career in cybersecurity and no-code tools, combining his studies in information security with hands-on skills from the program.
He’s already been a course monitor for a Google Generative AI program, and now he’s building out his portfolio to land freelance work and tech roles.
In the final stage of the Cohorts, students have the opportunity to create a Capstone Project to showcase what they have learned across the journey. They have the liberty to use whichever tool they want or even explore new ones, promoting their critical thinking and proactivity. Always with the support of our Mentors.
Amigurumimania: A heartfelt business built with tech and love.
Everton created a full e-commerce site for his family’s handmade crochet dolls.
✅ Built on Softr
✅ Payments powered by Gumroad
✅ Backend connected via Zapier + Airtable
The feedback from his family? Proud, grateful, and a little demanding.
“Working with my mom and sister,” he laughed, “was tougher than the client work!”
Everton almost didn’t apply. Now he’s building tech projects, running a family business, and living a dream he nearly didn’t get to chase. Maybe this is your sign to start.
